Anam Cara
Anam Cara is a Gaelic term meaning 'soul friend.' I
felt that this was an appropriate title, as I always regarded Josh
Clayton-Felt to be a special soul friend, someone who could almost on first
meeting, touch your life in an immensely powerful way - through his smile,
great warmth and love of life and music. When I visited Josh's house and
studio in the Topanga Canyon of L.A, Josh persuaded me to overcome my
recording shyness and sing backing vocals on his song 'Dragonfly'. I loved
to listen to the sound of the crickets outside at night - so much, that I
asked Josh to send me a recording of them. I felt a great sense of an 'anam
cara' experience upon hearing the final version of 'Dragonfly', with my
vocals and the sound of crickets. The piece 'Anam Cara' is a tribute to that
special connection, and also a thank you to Josh whose love of music
continues to inspire me every day.
