I can't help but let my tears flow as i just found out the Josh has passed. I thought of him this morning as i was trying to think of a CD to listen to. I had packed him away along with my other CD's when i moved & have been to lazy to unpack them all. I discovered Josh in a Tori Amos concert in 1996 & found his music interesting & meaningful. I was really eager to buy the CD and i finally got it that year for Christmas (although i did not wait to open it, I was listening to it for 2 weeks before the 25th) What i do remember about that time was that his CD served as a sort of distraction at a time when my 22 year old neighbor was missing & ultimatly found dead & for some reason i found his music comforting. I decided to do a search for him this morning while listening to his CD so that i can learn about how far he had come since that time when i first learned about him. I did not expect what i just found...instead of learning of what he was working on now i came across a eulogy. I thought maybe it was the name of a song but it wasn't. It was written by a friend about him. It made me sad that we lost such a valuable human being with such a sensitivity to his art. I had intended to write a letter to him all those years ago but never did, & here i am now speaking in his memory, but atleast we have the satisfaction of knowing Heaven has regained an Angel.

I stumbled onto Josh, by hearing "Building Atlantis" on a radio station wxpn, out of philadelphia.I mmediately after hearing the song i had to get the album, i drove to get it right away.I was impacted by a smart soulful songwriter, whose influences reminded me of a time when music, had poetry, and irony, it reminded me of the beatles.Josh has become a friend to me through his voice, i am a songwriter too, and felt a connectedness to jOSH, IN THIS TIME OF DARK, AND MECHANICAL, SLICK MUSIC,jOSH'S VOICE RINGS TRUE.i am sorry for our loss, but i will do whatever i can to let his voice be heard.
