I was just getting ready for all the Christmas hub-bub and you popped in my mind Joshy (no surprise.) I really miss you this time of year, us all bundled up, walking in the cold air after a big meal at India's Oven, holding hands and goofing around. I hope you are looking down on my crazy life and laughing your ass off at my kids (Thing one and Thing two.) I just know you three would have been wild about each other. Merry Christmas to you and to all Josh's friend and family. Love, Nicky

My mom was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor two days ago. i came home from hearing the news from her surgeon and stood at my kitchen window staring at the trees, utterly numb. as i was watching the branches of one tree blow like crazy in the wind, two large crows flew side by side and landed on the upper most branches. they sat there, braced against the wind, fluttering their wings every once in a while to keep their balance, for ten minutes or so. i smiled and waved at them - i think i know who they were. thank you.........

I recorded Josh and his band at T.T. The Bears in Cambridge as he was touring Inarticulate Nature Boy in 1997. Josh and I became friends through a common friend, and I'll never forget the amazing moments trading guitar solos with him at a late night jam session. Josh gave me permission to record the performance on a DAT. Excellent band. Amazing human being.
